Lordship again on the subject of the Railway Terminus.

2.

In his ConfidentialDespatch of

the 12th. of January, 1906, Sir M. Nathan proposed to place

the Terminus on the Reclamation in Hunghom Bay between

Cameron and Gascoigne Roads. Further consideration showed

that this site did not provide sufficient room for the

terminal arrangements, and in his Confidential Despatch

of the 21st. of March, 1907, he submitted a larger scheme

which involved the acquisition of Kowloon Marine Lots 34

and 81 and Kowloon Inland Lot 210 (known as Blackhead's

Lots), the building of the Terminus on portion of them,

the extension of the Reclamation southwards till it abutted

on those lots, and the acquisition of a strip of land, at

a cost of $30,000, on the North side of Salisbury Road to

enable the provision of sidings to the West and South

sides

AE RIGHT HONOURABLE

THE EARL OF CREWE,
